and no, it's not just trusting...
Is this a bit of a clickbaity title? Ah, perhaps!
But if you’ve ever wondered why your goals aren’t working out, if you’re doing the manifestation game wrong, if what you set out to achieve may actually be too ambitious… this one’s for you.
Because I personally don’t believe in the more toxic spiritual narrative that by just staying high vibe, continuously letting go of the ‘how’ and prioritising trust over action, is doing anyone a favour.
Last year, a huge theme for me was trust. There were moments where I felt doubtful about so many things in my life – work, love, house… And I felt that what I needed was to take a deep breath and surrender into trust. Trust in myself and my capabilities. Trust in my creative downloads. Trust in the Universe for her support and divine timing.
You get the idea.
The idea of trust was definitely empowering to me, because as I often mention in this space, I truly believe trust is a choice (and a verb at that).
However, in hindsight, it wasn’t all that I needed.
I also needed action. A fresh perspective on how certain things were moving forward (or not moving forward) and what I could do to boost development, or growth.
By following the manifesting narrative of ‘you don’t need to know the how, just know the what you want’, I kind of got myself stuck in a position where I embodied trust but wasn’t seeing the effect (reward?) of it at all.
And that was so triggering for my nervous system.
I don’t think we need to always know how we’re going to get there. But I also don’t think we need to stay at home, watch Netflix and expect that with feeling trust we’ll conquer the world.
It’s about that divine balance between feminine and masculine energy, isn’t it?
We need to be open to receiving unexpected creative ideas, signs from the Universe and exciting new connections as much as we need to understand our action plan, how we can have our needs met and what is practically required to set things in motion.
I don’t believe things will fall into our lap. And anyone who is claiming otherwise comes from a huge background of privilege and bypassing, IMO.
Yes, things will come your way when you open yourself up to a new way of reality. But opening yourself up is a lot of hard work, falling down and getting back up again, and staying committed to the bigger picture of your ‘why’ as you’re executing and honing the ‘how’.
So, plain and simple, the secret to manifestation is putting in the work.
Manifestation is nothing more than getting clear on how you’d like to feel in your life and what you need in order to get there.
Manifestation isn’t necessarily about a new car, a dream home or X amount of money in the bank. It can be that, but proceed with caution if you feel like all your goals are centered around materialism. My question would then be, why does your ego feel like it needs to build in so much safety with external items?
True manifestation is a heart’s desire for more passion, love, connection, opportunity, intuition.
And true manifestation then means a commitment to the unbeaten path. To the hard decisions between rationality and gut feeling.
And that’s not necessarily flowy, or easy, or ‘laissez-faire’.
That’s deep, tough and demanding.
But if deep down you know that you’re meant for more (which, if your’e reading this, I want to be so bold and assume that you do!), manifesting the shite out of your life is absolutely necessary. And absolutely worth it.
You only have one life in this body-soul combo.
Embrace the beautiful hard work that it takes to manifest your most beautiful, expansive life.
You deserve all of that and so much more.
pin for later…
