What It Means To Live A Feminine Life

Surrendering into trust doesn’t come naturally to me. Listening to my intuition doesn’t come naturally to me. Appreciating my body, moving her with attention and dressing her with love doesn’t come naturally to me. 
These are all choices I make, usually every single day. 

In our deeply patriarchal world, living a feminine life is a courageous choice.
To choose trust in a world based on fear takes courage. 
To choose creative pursuits in a world based on statistics takes courage. 
To choose yourself in a world that demands you to prioritise others takes courage. 

It takes courage to live a feminine life. 
And that’s exactly where the hidden magic resides. The word courage contains the French word for heart, cœur. 
To live a feminine life means to live a life from the heart. To choose to listen to everything your body and soul are expressing to you, no matter how loud your mind is. 
To live from the neck down too instead of just from the neck up. 

Empowerment isn’t just reposting an inspirational quote on Instagram. It’s not even just doing a moon ritual or bringing your crystals to work with you. 
Empowerment means learning to get to know all sides of yourself – the light stuff, the dark stuff, the mind stuff and the heart stuff – and to create space to pursue what aligns most. 
Living a feminine life means making the hard decisions. Leaping into the unknown. Being unapologetic about your wildness. And sometimes, it means faking all of the above until you’ve made it to the other side of fear. 

There’s not a lot about a truly authentic, feminine life that we’re taught as we grow up. So this is about relearning what the Truth is for yourself. Choosing what you’d like to be your Truth.
Is money evil? Or a great energy for you? You decide. 
Is love difficult to attain? Or an amazing opportunity to experience something new and unexpected? You decide. 
Is working supposed to be boring but simply a ‘part of life’? Or can it be exciting and fulfilling? You decide. 

Yes, these decisions come with privilege. But my guess is that there’s not that much standing in your way of deciding what your Truth is in your feminine life, except the limitations your mind has imposed on yourself. 

It’s time to release the bullshit. You’ve acquired it by no fault of your own – this is simply how our society works – but it’s your choice to keep holding onto it or choose a different life. 

Living the feminine life is choosing the dark depths of the unknown. Of choosing faith over fear as your hands tremble and your body shakes. But my Goddess, at least it’s the side of choice.
